For Layla & Griffins everywhere

Tonight I came face to face with what I have committed to running for.

A friend of mine shared a story about a little girl here in Katy Texas named Layla that just lost her battle with Leukemia, Stage 4 Neuroblastoma to be specific. She was not even two years old, when she was diagnosed and now yesterday she lost her battle.  It broke my heart to read the entries in the blog that the mother and father kept and to see her little face in the photos.  I sit here crying and sobbing for a little girl I didnt even know, but for her pain, and the pain of her family. http://laylagrace.org/

This reminds me of Griffin, and his mother Mo. Mo is one of the mentors on my team. She told her story at my first team training & why she walks, for her son Griffin who was 6 when he lost his battlle.  The pain she deals with, and such courage to get out and help raise awareness, and hopefully one day help find the cure.

My heart breaks for them, and it makes me want it even more.  It puts into perspective everything I have with my own son. Because Griffin and Layla they dont get to drive a car, or have a boyfriend or girlfriend or even go to elementary school.  I have my son, who is 14 and HEALTHY and will live.

The suffering needs to end, we MUST find a cure. http://pages.teamintraining.org/ntx/rnrseatl10/jforsman
