Hot Chocolate Run

Okay, so I have gotten past day 3 of my new year's training, and guess who showed back up.
Yes, you are right, my old nemesis, Shin Splints. Uggh. Seriously, what is a girl to do?

I have changed my stride, changed my shoes, changed where and how I run, I have changed all that I can ,even had my knees adjusted at the chiropractor. Not to mention the stretching, all kinds of ways and exercises to strengthen my shins, all with the same result. Nada, Zip Zero Zilch..

Shin Splints.....

Shaking my head I am close to just accepting that I will have them as long as I run, but I still hope that they will go away. That maybe on the next run I will beat my arch enemy and my legs won't hurt.

Never the less, despite the pain, I will press on. I will train and I will race.  In fact.....

My 1st event of the year is the Hot Chocolate Run. Saturday January 15th, in Addison.

I will run and then I will drink FREE Hot Chocolate in my "custom" race mug.. Wahoo!!  

Look for photos after the race, but till then stay tuned and don't forget to say a little prayer for my shins.
