A very wise lady said" You can do ANYTHING for 5 minutes". This was my sister's spin class instructor and my sister told me after she ran her race. It really stuck with me.
My 5 minutes are actually 2 minutes right now, soon they will be 3 minutes, building up to 5 but it is the state of mind behind it. Literally we can bear most anything for just a matter of minutes, so I give it my all for 2 minutes running.
Then I walk fast for a minute and I do it all over again. Little by little I go till I have given every thing I have.
This is how I train for my half marathon.
I went out and met my Team this past Saturday.I was able to log 4 miles, despite meeting my arch enemy again. Yep, shin splints again but I press on. No time to waste now.
Today I went back to the rec center and logged another 2 miles the same way. (Insert Big Cheesy "I am proud of myself"smile)
I can hear my sister's voice saying "You can do anything for 2 minutes" So I do it.
