73 Days ago I started this whole journey and committed to training for a half marathon and raising $4400 for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Today was recommittment day. Time to evaluate how far I have come both physically and finacially. I ask myself the folllowing questions as I fill out the paperwork..
Question 1- Do I have what it takes to complete my training?
Answer: Yes. I have the follow through and the deisre.
Question 2- Do I want to complete my training?
Answer: Yes, now more than when I started
Question 3- Did I meet the minumum % financially to re-committ?
Answer: Yes, and then some. Thanks to the love and support of my family and friends we have raise over 42% of my goal. Yay!
Question 4- Can I raise the rest? Is it possible? Am I prepared to pay the rest if I don't?
This is the toughest of all. Money is such a sticky issue. Here I am raising money to find a cure when so many people in this world can't even afford to eat, but then I remember that SO many people affected by these diseases can't eat either at times.
They too don't have what they need in life in order to live.
So the answer is YES. It is possible. Yes I can raise the rest. Last, because I believe in what I am doing I am prepared to pay the rest. It is a small sacrifice to make in order for HOPE to reside.
So today I said YES again and committed to so far my biggest adventure and the honor of being a part of bringing hope.
